You know what really grinds my gears?

Here are some of the things that really grinds my gears!

Those people who tend to be a one upper!
When you say something they always have to put their last words in and be the "better" person

People who add my friends on facebook when they don't even know who they are and act like they know him/her

When people get mad at you over silly things or act like a kid.
Like grow up already!

When people don't cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze!!
don't spread the germs!

When customers come in the store 5 minutes prior to closing and take forever to choose what they want to buy, or even leave garbage and clothes hanging around the store!

When people don't know how to drive!
Like going under the speed limit, taking forever at a traffic light when its green or even at a 4 way stop. Even worse when people wont stop when your trying to cross the street, or even when they cant even park and take up 2 parking spots!

Snow!! I hate the snow and the cold weather! The worst part is finding snow on my car in the morning and having to brush it off before I head to school or work.

When at the store and there is a huge line up and the customer in front of you finishes paying and they just stand there reading the receipt and there is a line of people waiting behind them!

When people stink! Especially b.o (body odor) Like seriously take a shower and use deodorant! No one wants to smell that.

Yummy Cookie Recipe!

I made chocolate chip cookies in grade 8 Home Ec and it sure was delicious!

1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350*

Cream butter, brown sugar and white sugar with an electric mixer
Add egg and vanilla
then mix in flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking soda until moistened
U may taste the cookie dough
Add the chocolate chips
Form balls of dough using your hands onto a cookie sheet.
Set the timer for 13 minutes
When golden brown allow to cool for few minutes

Enjoy!

**You can use smarties, mini eggs, peanut chips, m&ms or whatever instead of chocolate chips!
Best would be smarties or mini eggs! loll

Quotes

Sadly its true with the fact that we have to realize that:

"Life is no nintendo game" (Eminem).

There are no second chances.

"Life is too short to worry about the little things; Enjoy what you have today, not what you might get tomorrow!"  (unknown)

When something happens to you that isn't a big deal the best thing to do is move on and not worry about it. Worry about things that are way more important such as an illness in your family. We all tend to worry about little silly things that in the big picture isn't a big deal.

"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" (George W. Bush)

This means if you your friend treat you badly the first time, shame on them but if it happens again its your own fault because you are allowing them to treat you like crap, and it may happen over and over again, but you are allowing it to happen. The best thing is to just move on and not be friends with them since they keep treating you like crap and all that does is make your life miserable. You don't want that to be a problem in your life especially if its a friend! A good friend doesn't treat you like crap! A good friend would respect you, be loyal, be themselves, never lie to you, listen and share with you. You have to look at it in the big picture are they a good friend or not? Remember life is too short to worry about little things! It's best to enjoy your life as much as possible.

If you spend your whole life waiting for the storm, you’ll never enjoy the sunshine. (Morris L.West)

Why do you have to live so far away?

We all say this quote which is my title "Why do you have to live so far away?" We all have friends and families that live far away from us.
Canada is a huge country, as a matter of fact the 2nd largest country in the world behind Russia!
I have friends and families that live across Canada, even on the other side of Canada or in the United States of America which is so far! Even thought about going to visit my friends but its not cheap! Everything costs money now, but would be nice if everything was free.
I attended 3 programs in Ottawa, Ontario where you get to meet students from across Canada and spend a week with them; Forum for young Canadians (April 2007), Encounters with Canada (April 2008), Democracy 250 (Sept 2008), this was a great experience and got to meet people from different cultures and build a close friendship with them. You basically spent 24/7 with them and at the end of the week there is tears rolling down your cheek when you have to say goodbye to your friends that you just met a week ago and were so close to them! You add them as a friend on facebook, get their email, phone number and other contact info to keep in touch with them and some you no longer keep in touch after a few weeks. You plan to get together but we don't realize that everything costs money and we all have busy schedules. I haven't had the chance to see anyone from these 3 programs since it ended.
Also I attended 2 cochlear implant camps in Saint Louis since I am hearing impaired where it was the same, I was the only Canadian person there and the rest were American, at the end its so hard to leave each other. I was able to see two people after since i was lucky enough to be in that town when i was traveling with my parents.
It would be nice if you could get to your destination with a finger snap!
Everyday there is always that spot deep down in your heart that hurts because you miss people. But today we are lucky to have this amazing technology such as phones, email, internet, instant messaging (especially skype!) and so on, unlike back then when there wasn't many technological opportunities, like if you wanted to talk to someone you would have to mail them or go knock on their door.
So that is one thing to keep in mind! It is hard but we are lucky to have this amazing technology around us.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog!

This is the first time i've created a blog, i have very little knowledge on blogging but it looks interesting and exciting!
It will include some of my thoughts and feelings on certain topics.

First I shall introduce myself! My name is Kiera and I have lived in Canada my whole life, I was born deaf and received a cochlear implant when I was 4 years old. Sign language was my first language and use of communication till I received my cochlear implant then I learned how to talk afterwards!
I love sports, I am currently enrolled in Karate, and I also play softball. I enjoy watching football and baseball on TV or better live! I also enjoy surfing, knee boarding and somewhat snowboarding, I am not a winter person at all! I absolutely hate the cold and snow. I'd rather it be warm/hot and sunny year round!
I am currently in college taking Justice Studies, my goal is to work with the youth or become a border services officer. This shows that I  need good listening and communication skills, also the protection of me and others. To give out some advice if I want to work with these youth, not frustrate them too much or say something that I will regret saying. I want to help these kids become better people and help them make smarter choices.
